Hi Everyone, I am a newlywed and have always loved to cook, bake, and entertain. Lately I decided to start making cakes and now I can't stop; whether its cakes, cupcakes, cake truffles, etc!! I just love everything about them... the creativity, versatility, and the love that they bring to those who eat them.

STAR WARS / Lego Birthday Cake

This cake took a lot of time and research, but was a blast to make.
Happy 5th Birthday Jake!

The mom gave me free reign of designing this cake, and just told me to make it Star Wars themed and “nut free”.  So after doing some research to ensure that my cake would be nut free, I then moved onto researching Star Wars.  I quickly realized that Star Wars and Lego's pretty much go hand and hand so I checked with the mom to see if Jake liked Lego's, and she said that he LOVED them.

So I thought... how fun would it be to make Lego shaped cakes and have his favorite Star Wars characters fighting on top the Lego's!?!

The blue Lego is Red Velvet cake with cream cheese icing, and the red and yellow Lego's are chocolate cake with chocolate buttecream icing (yuuummmy).  All 3 cakes were covered with buttercream fondant.

Happy Birthday Katie!
Katie LOVES red velvet cupcakes, so we decided to make her red velvet cupcakes and decorate them with mini red velvet cupcakes made out of fondant....  sooo cute.

It’s official….

I have decided to take the month of December OFF
from cakes.

I am going to use this time to relax, do some Christmas shopping, and spend time just hanging out with my friends and family.  (AND of course spend some quality Auntie time with the newest addition to our family, who arrived Monday morning!)

***But rest assured...  for those orders that I have already committed to doing in December, I still plan to fulfill as promised.

Minnie & Mickey Mouse Cake & Cupcakes!!!

Happy 3rd Birthday Haley!
As with all 3 year olds, Haley had a hard time deciding whether she wanted a Mickey or Minnie birthday party theme so her mom (my twin sister) decided to do both.   (How clever!)
And since Haley was having two parties for her birthday (one for friends and one for family) this cake / cupcake stand worked out PERFECTLY.  The cupcakes were served at the party for friends, and the cake at the family party.
I made a half Minnie and half Mickey cake to go on top of the stand, and then alternated Mickey and Minnie cupcakes throughout... sooooo cute!

Yes, these are mini york peppermint patties used for the ears!  (This was a special request from my twin, lol).
And here are a couple pictures of the party decor...
My twin did such a great job with ALL the decorations!  I have no idea how she found time or the effort for everything being that she is eight and a half months pregnant.  But everything turned out perfectly and Haley had a wonderful time at both parties.
Check out this Minnie and Mickey Mouse sign that my sister Melissa made... She is very creative with this type of stuff!
I just love these little goody bags / purses
And here is the birthday girl...
Family shot... (and nope that is not me, lol.  That is my twin sister)
